Hi Chris, my name is Betty McDowell, married to a Jack McDowell. I have been researching the name for quite a few years now.My husbands grandfather Henry Harrison Dowell/McDowell changed the name from Dowell to McDowell.I don't have any of my notes out at this time but I will check and see what I can find and let you know.
