Dan, have you tried different spellings of the Houghtaling surname? I have a Catrona Hooghtooling who married Martinus Burger in Kingston, Ulster, New York on 27 October 1766. There are also Hoogteelings mentioned by Hank Z Jones in his book "More Palatine Families."? Either one might be possible spellings of your Houghtaling.
