    3. Hi Jann, It could be! The problem is, of course, there were tons of Parks. The more I get involved in "genealogy" the more I find that nothing is for certain. So, that said… My George Parks…after years of comprehensive digging by a 1st cousin of mine, now deceased…recorded that George was born 9 Jul 1845 in NY state. We are quite certain of that. We know he fled the state of NY… escaped to Thomastown Twp…now just plain Thomas Twp…, Saginaw, MI where, in circa 1866, he married Lydia Margaret Gary. They reared 3 sons and 2 daughters. Sons were…Franklin, Arthur and George; daughters, Lydia Fluellen (my grandmother) and Josephine. Except for my grandmother…we know nothing about their offspring. My George Parks was a saloonkeeper in Saginaw Co, MI. In 1870 he lived in Thomasville, Saginaw Co, MI; in 1900 he lived in Riverside, Missaukee Co, MI; in 1910, lived in Chippewa, Isabella Co, MI; and on 29 Apr 1930 he lived in Union, Isabella Co, MI. Note that George would have been 85 years old. Quite possible, but……… According to my cousin's data, he died on 3 Sep 1926 in Marion, Osceola Co, MI…and buried there. I plan to check this out for myself, one day. Now, the son George, we are fairly sure was born in 1878 in Saginaw Twp, Saginaw Co, MI…that's all we have. Does that meager data fit in with what you may know concerning your father-in-law or his father? Wouldn't it be something……
