    3. Lance, Unfortunately, I do not have any reliable knowledge as to where my Mitchell connection came from, originally. However, we believe that the bloodline has a Scottish-Irish flavor. We know they lived and worked in the Saginaw County and Bay County region, however, we think Harry had a gas station-auto repair business in Cadillac, Mi…in early 1900's. James' parents moved from Genesee County into "a great big house" in Detroit in 1922…where they had "a dozen or so kids." One son became an accomplished watch repairman. But other sons were mostly lathers. James' father did work as a brakeman for some railroad and died in 1929. So far, no one has been able to give me positive names of this group of Mitchell's…only guesses or nicknames. So, I won't go there.
