Kathy, Thanks for your responce. All I know is that my grandmother's father was a Lumber Jack in the Sault Ste Marie area when his wife left him and he could not care for his two children so he gave them to the state and at least my grandmother was adopted and had her name changed. I have tried requesting her birth records with no luck. Well Jerry, I did find this. I don't know your gr grandfather's name but I have this information: Charles H. Franklin age 31, b. Wisconsin b. abt 1878 Sarah Franklin b. abt 1883 Sault Ste Marie 1910 Census Series T624 Roll 641 Part 2 page 167B. They were in the second ward.
