Michele, I don't know about the barn. However, we stayed at the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth this past summer. Each of its 360 guest rooms is named after a founding family of the Frankenmuth area. As I recall, "Dehmel" was represented at least once. In the guest rooms were framed one-page summaries of a portion of the family's history/genealogy AND a book of all the pages. If you phone the front desk during non-busy hours, they may be able to direct you to the local newspaper, library, history center, book publisher and information sources.
