    1. Re: [MI-Genealogy] Help
    2. Glad you received the items ok. No reimbursement necessary, I go to the State of Michigan Library often and it didn't take long to find the article. A thought on finding her middle name - did you try the Social Security Death Index (can be found under Rootsweb.com). Also you or her daughter should be able to see and get copy of her birth and death certificate at the county clerk's offices. County Clerk for Calhoun Co (Battle Creek) is in Marshall, for Ypsilanti - Ann Arbor. The funeral home ususally keeps copy of the death certificate also but the information on the death certificate is only as accurate as the person giving the information. You can also try the Intermediate School District (ISD) for the county where she went to school (for instance Calhoun Co ISD) - I have found elementry school records as far back as 1906 - her full name, address, and parent/guardian should be listed. Where did she go to high school - many schools have yearbooks (I found my Mom's from 1930 in Mt. Pleasant) Good luck and you're welcome.
