A "huckster" is a person that sells something. In my experience,going back before WW2, it was a man that had an open wagon or open sided truck and went through a neighbourhood on a schedule, once a week, selling fresh farm produce. Prices were somewhat flexible, you could make a deal. Today it would cover most of the shills selling on television.
