October is Family History Month and the Library of Michigan and Archives of Michigan would like to show our appreciation to our loyal users by once again offering a series of FREE family history classes at the Library of Michigan in Lansing. Sessions will range from "Beginning Your Family History Research" to "Genealogy of a House". Also... Don't miss the "21st Century Techniques for the Genealogist" seminar. The Michigan Genealogical Council is offering a day long seminar on Saturday, October 20. The fee is $25 with a lunch and $17.00 without. All registrants will receive a syllabus with handouts from all of the seminar sessions. Pre-registration is required by Saturday, Oct. 6, so don't delay. A portion of the proceeds from the MGC's seminar will go towards supporting the Library of Michigan's Abrams Foundation Historical Collection.
