My grandparents on my father's side were William Harold Parker and Catherine Melissa Smith. They are deceased, as are my parents, and I'm having a very difficult time finding info on their births, marriage, parents, etc. They appear on the 1930 U.S. Census in Otisville, MI showing my father as a son. I cannot identify either as a child in a family in the earlier censuses (1900, 1910, 1920). I believe Catherine had brothers named Dan and Carl.Smith and the Smith family had a farm in the Otisville vicinity. William worked for years as a salesman for U.S. Steel. I don't remember their dates of death except I think my grandfather died in the 1950s and my grandmother in the 1960s. In the years I knew them (40s, 50s, and 60s), they lived in East Tawas, MI. I cannot find Catherine in the U.S. Social Security Death Index and, though there are many William Parkers in the index, I cannot find any with enough info to made a positive identity. Any help would be appreciated. William H. Parker
