Without success I have attempted to obain any genealogical evidence of my maternal grandparents, John and Beatrice Cammenga, who immigrated from Friesland, The Netherlands, to Grand Rapids, MI presumably around 1906. Any leads or suggested directions of websites to access beyond those I have done are appreciated. BJB, Sr.
I am wondering if you have any records for the Emmett County area or somewhere surrounding that area for either the last name of Weldon and or Wolcott from the early 1920's. Wolcott possibly could be a bit earlier. Archie Wolcott married my grandmother, Dorothy Verle Phillips sometime before 1927. That is when my father was born and as far as I know, my grandmother was married a second time after Mr. Wolcott passed away to Firnley Hugh Weldon who was born in Carthage, New York. My father was born in Levering on 10-31-1927 so am assuming that my grandparents were married sometime before that. Am also looking for other information on the last name of Phillips, from the same area. Thank you for any help you might be able to give me. Constance (Weldon) Benson
Carol Harmon went to the court house on July 6th and sent me the following Marriage information: William F Mount 27 of Mayville, farner, was married on May 30 1883 to Mary A Reitz 23 of New York, by Rev.C Knibs, Witnesses; George Mount and Clara Reitz both of Mayville. This was taken from Marriage vol. 3 page 147. You sent me information on this marriage a while back. You had Mary Ann's last name as Beitz. I wanted to get you the corrected information, and now I have it. Thank you for you help. Now, I have a few other last names that you may be able to assist me with. Charles Reitz, also of Mayville Michigan. I am also looking for further information on George Mount. I do not beleive I have found his name in connection with Mayville Michigan. If you have a marriage listing for George or Charles can you please pass it along. Other Reitz or Gohs marriages would be a wonderful addition, when you have time. Thank you once again. Sincerely Christina Mount

I don't know if it is anything you would be interested in seeing, but I could send you a copy of it as an attachment if you were interested. I don't know what year it was taken, but he worked there in the late 20's. Leota Kajdas

I'm searching for the grave of my great-great-grandfather Robert Shannon who died April 7, 1892. His death was recorded on May 11, 1892 in the Gratiot County Book "A"; Page 211 record 26. I'm pretty sure he was buried next to his granddaughter Maria Eleanor Shannon Pinkerton's grave with her headstone giving 1899 as her death date. Hi Kevin, I have tried to get through to the church today which is actually a part of Mount St. Joseph according to the Saginaw Diocese pages for you, since it was a local call for me. Please check out our web site for Crawford County, Michigan http://www.rootsweb.com/~micrawfo/ We'd be happy to add most anything you want added there, even if it's a single name to a cemetery. We can add all your surnames & maybe, hopefully you can make connections with folks researching the same surnames. Maybe you have a link to your personal web site that has Bates County connections? We can use that & wll be happy to link to it. Know of an old timey disease? Know of some old timey occupations? We can use those as well. Do you know of cemeteries that can be listed? Have directions? Burials? Do you have a resource (society, libraries, etc) that can be listed, along with any contact info? Do you have info on the county? Shoot, you may even have an idea of something to add to our site. Just let us know, and help us grow!! Thanks Bettie <>< -- "Texas Figgers of Speech" WE'VE HOWDIED BUT WE AIN'T SHOOK YET.
