My wife's relatives come from Beaver Island. Mike Mahane O'Donnell is her gg grand father on her mothers side. Mikes wife was Mary E. McCormick. Her parents are David and Grace (Dolan) McCormick. Catherine's mother was a Graham from James who also lived on the Island. I have pictures and information on death for most of them in Tupper Lake N.Y. I am looking for information on the McCormick side from the time they entered the US in1868-69 to when the moved to Beaver Island. I found 4 children. One death certificate states birth town as Middleton Mi. 1873 for Mary. I cannot find any info as to where they spent 30 plus years or what happened to the other three children? I'm hoping you can answer about the Burns family of Cass County. Marvin Leroy Burns married Rosemary Beatrice Tunks around 1940's to 1950. Marvin's father was Frank Burns, and his mother was Edna Brouse (I think). His brother, still living, is Robert Burns. They had an ancestor named Joseph Burns, but I have no details on him. Is there any info you can provide? My reason for inquiring is for my neices, Laura and Dani Giles. Laura was 18 mo old when Marvin died, and Dani did not get to meet him. Rosemary, their grandmother, became a second mother to the girls when their mother, Rose Ann (Burns) Giles died in 1993. RoseAnn died a year after my husband, their uncle, James M Burns died(1992).

Thanks, I hope you did not miss understand. You have done an excellent job with the Index. I appreciate all you hard work. It is a valueable source of information. I have found several marriages in your database, and have had you enter a couple of marriages that I know occurred in MI. But I know sometimes somethings are not recorded. Maybe someone did not turn in the paperwork to the county in the first place...justice of the peace or whatever. I was interested in the Christain Scientist...only because. Our family was Catholic and for some reason one of the sisters, became a Christain Scientist at some point. We don't know when. Since I wasn't able to find a couple of her other sisters marriages, maybe they did too and these marriage were not recorded in the same manner as was required at the tme.
