    1. Re: [MI-Genealogy] Old Negs - how to clean and get prints

    3. Hi Andrea, The cheapest way to capture those images is to "color" xerox them for about $1 per page at your nearby office supply, Kinko's or UPS store -- where clean copying is part of their business. Even black & white photos come out better when copied in color. And you can gang copy a number of smaller photos on one sheet and then cut them apart later. I'm new to this listing, too, but thought I'd add my two cents here! -- Ray Reske ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrea Hadley" <Mystical_Lady_ofthe_Lake@msn.com> To: <MI-GENEALOGY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, September 02, 2004 2:29 PM Subject: Re: [MI-Genealogy] Old Negs - how to clean and get prints > My mom has a lot of old photos that she is going to give to the rose part of her family, I want to get a copy of them before she gives them away, any recommendations on how I can do that? > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Danny Wilber<mailto:dmwilber@juno.com> > To: MI-GENEALOGY-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:MI-GENEALOGY-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, August 29, 2004 9:38 AM > Subject: Re: [MI-Genealogy] Old Negs - how to clean and get prints > > > Thank you phil, I have to clean them before I print them. 1. Eleanor BENCH PHILLIPS - 1884
    2. Joel and Debbie Holth
    3. Hello listers!! Hope you are all well. Have a query - looking for the above mentioned person. I am not sure of her birth date or parentage, but know that Eleanor Bench married George Phillips - from that union, they had Edna Louise Phillips, b. 11/18/1884 in Greenfield Township, Wayne Co. Could someone give me some background info on any of these people mentioned in this email? It would be great. I know that Edna Phillips married Frank Miller of Redford Township, but I do not know the dates, etc. Thanks again!! Debbie

    3. Thanks for your targeting Cross Village. I have David and Grace ( last name Commoc) and 4 children there. Next problem is that I find is D& G last name Cormick in a township of Holmes in Mackinac in 1870 pg 16of 24. Census shows Holmes, Moran and St. Ignace. Current maps do not show Holmes? There was a lighthouse there because D&G where living with the lighthouse keeper. Modern day map shows Township of Holmes but in Menominee, too far from the area of 1870. any ideas? 3. Thank you to all that have submitted to the collection of family group sheets! There are now 1124 sheets online for viewing with more that have been sent and will be going up soon. Lisa Nesterowich has volunteered to help and has started to format and proof read the files, and is uploading them as she gets them done. Sheets will be going online more consistently now, and already are. http://www.rootsweb.com/~migenweb/fgs/ Patricia Wazny-Hamp MIGenWeb Family Group Sheet Collection http://www.rootsweb.com/~migenweb/fgs/

    3. Richard My ancestors lived for a while in your area and siblings to my grandfather Solomon b. 1863 Ohio. DO you have access to death records for that area? Enos & Frances Friend had, according to the 1900 census, 5 children with only 2 living. Solomon was my grandfather. Samuel married SARAH R. NORTON , Nov. 28, 1879 in Grand Traverse MI. Lost her after 1880. Sarah may have married Samuel Mettert in Elkhart, Indiana on 11 Aug 1878. Mary was in the 1870 census and was 12 years old. This is the only record I have found of her. There was a 5th child of which I have only the 1900 census reference on. I included what I have below. Any ehlp would be appreciated. 3. Hi Tom, St. Francis is actually on both 10th & 11th between Union and Cass. The church, rectory, convent and schools took the property between 10th (north side), 11th (south side), Cass (east side) and the alley (west side). The (old white wooden) church was on the corner of Cass and 10th. The rectory was next to it and the elementary was closest to those. The convent was closer to Union (actually up to the alley which ran parallel to Union and Cass). There was a playground/parking lot on that side of the building which is where the "little kids" went. The High School was parallel to the alley, actually right next to it. High school student parking (very few drove) was across 11th street on a vacant lot next to the alley. Between the high school and the elementary was a shared gym, cafeteria, library and auditorium. This was all one large building when I graduated. Before I was in elementary school my cousins, aunts and uncles went to the high school which was a separate wooden structure on 11th and Cass. That was playground for the "big kids" when I was in elementary school. The (new ) church was built after 1974 (I don't know exactly when) and it is a few blocks south on Union up to the alley. That was a bunch of weedfilled vacant lots when I was in school and we would walk up to there for softball in PE class. I distinctly remember the weeds, I have hayfever, it was not pleasant. When I was in high school I worked at the hardware (corner of Front and Union) after school. I'd just walk there when school was done. Boy I hope I remembered all that correctly. :-) Barb TomandPaula@aol.com wrote: >Hi Barb, > Is that around Union and 10th or Eleventh St.? > > Tom Balentine > > >==== MI-GENEALOGY Mailing List ==== >The MIGenWeb FGS Project. >http://www.rootsweb.com/~migenweb/fgs/ >Join in this special project!
