Hi, I am trying to figure out the address on my husband's birth certificate. I am not sure of the street and hope someone recognizes it and can tell me what it is. It is 1322 Beg-a or Beglli St. All I am sure of is the Beg and that they lived in Flint, MI. Thanks for your help. Edie

Hi, I am new to the list and hoping someone can help us. My husband's parents were divorced when he was 4 or 5. I am trying to find a divorce record. We don't know the exact year we are pretty sure between 1949 and 1951. All we know is they were suppose to have lived in Marquette County. In fact we understand Paul probably stayed in that area til his death in 1990 or 91. His name was Paul Alfred Bond and hers was Letitia Leora Fisher Bond. Thanks for any help you can give us. Edie

Well Jerry, I did find this. I don't know your gr grandfather's name but I have this information: Charles H. Franklin age 31, b. Wisconsin b. abt 1878 Sarah Franklin b. abt 1883 Sault Ste Marie 1910 Census Series T624 Roll 641 Part 2 page 167B. They were in the second ward. You could go to the library and order this, if they don't already hold the film. Good luck. Kathy --- Family Connecting Links <famconlink@gt.rr.com> wrote: > Kathy, > Thanks for your responce. Kathy, Thanks for your responce. All I know is that my grandmother's father was a Lumber Jack in the Sault Ste Marie area when his wife left him and he could not care for his two children so he gave them to the state and at least my grandmother was adopted and had her name changed. I have tried requesting her birth records with no luck. To all, there is an island that is part of the province, called Cape Breton. Maybe Tom was thinking of that.
Contact the County Clerk's Office where the adoption occurred, fill out a form and pay (in Gratiot Co anyway) $20 for a review to see if the file can be opened.
Jerry, Was your grandmother in Midland,or somewhere else? I know in the Grand Rapids area there was a rather large orphanage that handled a number of children from my own family and the office, which now is over foster care families, would have records there. If she was in Midland then perhaps you could find out information from the county clerk's office or the local library, as to the name of the place she was at and you might be able take it from there. It's a place to start. While I'm not sure of the letter of the law, some of these records are sealed, but I don't know if there's a time limit to it. Something else-how old was she at the time of adoption? If she was in school, perhaps there are school records that can be located? Stanton, Michigan, the current county seat for Montcalm Co. had it's own children's home. The building still stands but it was only recently that I learned the "cool" old house I've admired for years, was the children's home back in the late 1800s-early 1900s. If you could find her in say, the 1910, 1920 or 1930 census, there might be surviving relatives or neighbors that you may be able to find. Good luck, Kathy --- Family Connecting Links <famconlink@gt.rr.com> wrote: > Can anyone help me find out how or where I can get > information on adoption in the 1910 time period for > michigan?
