I lived in Grosse Ile, Michigan and there was a family next to us with the same name Hickey. Is there any relationship. I'm looking for people who went to the Grosse Ile School between 1945 and 1955. While on a recent trip to Michigan, I purchased the beautiful marriage certificate for Albert T. Reid and Fannie Haywood, both of Fairgrove, Tuscola Co. The date is very faint but appears to be 5 January 1902. I know Fannie was the daughter of Fannie and ?. Does anyone know more of these two, particularly where/when they died and whether they had children? carolyn in rhode island
Hello! I am researching the women of the Alaska Garnet Mining & Manufacturing Co., formed by ten women in Minneapolis, MN in 1906. Anna E. Rose, wife of Edward, was one of the women who formed the corporation. They lived in Caledonia and then in Corunna. She was living in Corunna at the time of the incorporation and then went to live with her daughter, Minnie Towler, in Minneapolis until her death. In addition, Julia Durkee was living in Corunna about 1896 until about 1900. She may have lived alone, lived with "adopted" daughter Anna E. Durkee, or with other family members in Corunna. Julia and Anna were from New York and according to census records, Edward Rose was also from New York. I would appreciate any information on Anna Rose and her husband, on Minnie and/or Julia, including photographs if they might be available. More information is on my web site: www.designsbytrisha.com/garnetledge.htm Thank you for any tips, suggestions, or advice that you can provide to me. Can anyone explain John Bartlett m. Mary Crittenden John Bartlett and Mary H. Crittenden were married Feb 4, 1847 John was 43 at the time of marriage and Mary was 41 I believe this was Jackson MI? They had one daughter in 1850, Mary A. I am trying to find out if this was John Bartlett of Norwich Windsor County, NY who was married to Almira Knapp and had several children. We have a couple of confusing marriages in the family, but this one leaves me hanging. I am also trying to find out if Herbert Bartlett b. 1844? was married to Minnie Bartlett before: MINNIE E BARTLETT m BENJAMIN F RANDALL in CALHOUN cnty 08 DEC 1881 as I have Herbery and Minnie getting a farm together in family letters.....they were close cousins and possibly just got a farm together but given the era...... Thank you! Dawn Bartlett Kroma
Is anyone on this list willing to do a lookup for me in Oakwood Cemetery Grand Traverse County. I am looking for a Charlotte Brown Helferich who may be buried there. Her obituary states she is buried in Oakwood Cemetery but the GTGS show her buried in Fife Cemetery. I would like to know for sure if she is in Oakwood or not. The last name may be spelled different as there seems to many different spellings for the name but all spelled reasonable close to Helferich and all spellings seem to look as though they would sound the same.
I am looking for information on William & Julia Waterstraat who apparently adopted a Kathryn/Alma Robare in about 1920 in Saulte Ste Marie, Michigan. If anyone has any information on this family, please let me know. Kathryn is my grandmother, born 1917 died 1963. HI, Does anyone have any knowledge of the Eli L. ROLLIN family who lived in Morton, Mecosta County, MI? In the 1920 census, Eli is listed as living there and being the manager of a hotel. His wife, Caroline, worked at the hotel as a waitress. They had a daughter, Leona Y., who was 13 years old at the time. In the 1894 Michigan State census, I found Eli, aged 35, living in Gratiot County, MI with his first wife, Roxa (Rosie) , a daughter, Ethel, and two sons, Charles and Arthur J. Any knowledge of this family that you might have would be greatly appreciated. I am particularly interested in finding any descendants of Eli's. Thanks. Leota Kajdas
Hello All! I have a photograph of my 3X gr-grandparents, Andrew Kitchen MILLER (1827-1911) and Melissa VANSICKLE (1833-1917) taken by the photographer "Westbrook, Carson City, MI". Now, I don't know of them having ever lived outside of Ontario, Canada ... so I am very curious about who they might have been visiting in that area at that time. Both of them had parents who went to Ontario from New Jersey ... so there could have been cousins in Michigan, I suppose. I have no real idea of the timeframe involved - I always seem to over-estimate the ages of people from back them! If anyone on this List knows when "Westbrook" was in business in Carson City, I would love to hear from you. This photo' can be seen at: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~alanita/genbios.html ... down near the bottom of the page. Thanks for any suggestions you have. Cheers - Al
looking for information on a Nelson Perry Dwyer/Dyer born in Maine about 1857 and in Michigan 1879 or earlier. Are there any Dwyer/Dyer families originally from Maine that settle in Michigan, maybe up near Alpena? I can't seem to locate even one member of this Dwyer/Dyer family that he came from. I have no names for his parents. However, he was supposed to have had many brothers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
