I am searching for any information about John Sekula, who imigrated from Poland sometime in the early 1900's and died sometime between 1925 and 1930 in Michigan. His wife was Sophie. Believe would have been in Van Buren Co. or nearby counties. Mainly looking for his date of death. Appreciate any information anyone out there might have. Berniece

You will also want to check the St. Albans Border Crossing Records which will give you the date they came to Michigan. You can get these records on Microfilm from the LDS church. These records recorded all people coming into the United States from Canada. Well you most certinly want to write to DC for his records. some recors tell a whole lot about a person who served or it will have just the basic info. But I would definitely send for it as it is an honor to have that paper work. My 2nd great grandfathers' brother was in the Civil War and I have his papers from that file. It was interesting reading about how much they got paid, medals they received, illnesses they had, if wounded and where treated. When they were activated and discharged and what company they belonged to. Can anyone help me get more info about Bobby Coons? He was my mothers brother and they lived in Flint, MI. My mom passed away in 1981 so my memories of the story are sketchy, here is what I remember. Mom was born Dec 1929, she said she was 14 when this happened. Her brother then 9 (I believe) was digging in a sand pile with some friends, the friends went home for dinner and Bobby told them he would dig a little longer. When he didn't come home for supper my Grandmother went looking for him and found only his feet sticking out of the sand. If any one can help me get more info I would really appreciate it. The parents were Melvin and Margaret (Maggie Sellers) Coons. Thanks Debbie --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Small Business - Try our new resources site!

Good Evening Robert If it is not too difficult - would you be able to look up another obit - if there was one printed. It would have been our grandmother who died under a mysterious accident in Ocotber of 1927 in Detroit Michigan. Her name was Josephine Edwina Settlemier. She left behind four children. Her husband, George, took off and left the children who were then adopted by Jospehine's mother, Olive Tormey and her husband Gus (Augustine) Tormey. If you can't that is okay - just not sure when we can get back there to look into this.
