Joyce just keep hanging in there. All caps is typically used to indicate yelling in emails but hopefully this group has enough compassion to overlook it. I too would be happy to post things directly for you, if that helps.. It would be brilliant and very helpful if any lister would be able/willing to visit Gogebic Probate Court re research on a 1953 Probate Court Order? Details can be supplied; let me know any terms. Thanks for listening! Dave Smeth Family
Joyce , don't worry about what the other's have said. They are just caught up on a million year old rule. Do what you need to . People need to realize that sometimes we need to make adjustments for peoples frailties. If you are using a font style that isn't a standard one that most computer's use, then on this list a font that is a standard one would automatically be substituted (because this is a text only format list, with no extra frills). That would account for the difference in size. I had to make up a computer game for my senior project. I used a fancy font that wasn't a standard one. On someone else's computer the game substituted another font that was way too large and chopped off half my text. It took me the longest time to figure out what was going on and fix it.. Try using something like Times or Arial. Hope this helps, Angela -------Original Message------- From: MI-GENEALOGY-L@rootsweb.com Date: 04/07/05 15:14:48 To: MI-GENEALOGY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MI-Genealogy] LOOKING FOR HELP WITH BARNES FAMILY PLEASE again the type that i just sent is not the size i am talking about how is my type coming out bigger than what i typed out. again i am sorry joyce ==== MI-GENEALOGY Mailing List ==== The MIGenWeb FGS Project. http://www.rootsweb.com/~migenweb/fgs/ Join in this special project! i am not shouting or yelling i have had eye surgery and i can read my typing. I am sorry if i have offended you or anyone else. Can you please have some compassiontion. thank you joyce
I don't have a problem with Joyce and her use of all caps. She has a perfectly good reason. What does bother me is all the people who are telling her to stop shouting. Come on people, don't you have anything better to do with your time? I certainly do and hope that this will be the last word. Joyce, an alternative to all caps is to increase your type size to 16 or 18, then decrease it gradually as your vision improves. Jim
Joyce, Your font size is fine. If you need to use ALL CAPS in order for YOU to see what you are typing, that's fine with me. I for one do NOT have a problem with it! At least you are accurate in providing the information and if YOU can't see what you are typing how are we going to know if you have given us accurate information to go on. :-) I commend you for learning to use the computer, searching for your roots AND dealing with eye surgery and more! Most people your age aren't interested in learning new things. My mother started using a computer almost 10 years ago at the age of 70. She now needs larger font to see better. You go girl! If you still have problems with complaints about "shouting," please send me your requests and I'll post them for you. Glad to be of help to you any time! Blessings to you! Thanks, Marijo Unfortunately, there is no exact date of birth. My mother told me that Margaret was born short before 1920. So 1918 and 1919 is most probably the right point in time. Is it possible to find MOTHERS MAIDEN NAME for the women? Her mothers maiden name was Oleanne Bergitte Andreasdatter Bruland, b. 26 May 1878 in Forde, Sogn og Fjordane County, Norway. (Her mother was living in Minneapolis in 1918 under the name Anna Begita Bruland). Thanks again Hallvard P.S. I have never been as far north as Bodo. I plan to go there some day. People who have been there say northern Norway has a fantastic nature worth seeing. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Bmj62787@aol.com> To: <MI-GENEALOGY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 06, 2005 2:37 AM Subject: Re: [MI-Genealogy] Mrs. Margaret Webb 9251 Yosemite Avenue/Street, Detroit, M... > Hallvard, > > The Social Security Death Index has listings for six Margaret Webbs born > between 1918 and 1920.
