    3. Thanks for the suggestion. I've contacted the Hotaling website with all my info but even he is unable to match up my John (b c 1815) Nathanial (b. c 1808) and Solomon (b c 1817), all in New York with any reasonable approximations of parents. Early on they were in Delaware County and then John and his wife Marilla (Hinson) moved to Candor/Candor Corners, Tioga County, New York where we find their whole family in 1840 and 1850. They moved from there to Tuscola County, Michigan about 1858 and bought land here. I put this information out there in hopes that someone else might recognize the family and have a clue. Thanks again for taking the time to make a suggestion. Much appreciated. 1. Re: [MI-GENEALOGY] Stinger
    2. Thank you. I knew my cousins although they were of my father's generation. I knew Helen well. We visited Reese in 1952. My aunt lived across the street from the Catholic Church. She was the only one of the Becker kids to remain Catholic. My grandfather was Catholic and then spent two days traveling by wagon, fording two rivers, to get his baby son baptized and the priest refused, saying you aren't in this parish or whatever. He quit the Catholic Church over it. Two years later my father, their youngest child was born. If you can give me any addresses, I would be very happy. We lost touch after Tillie died. Ernhardt Stinger had a son named Charles and one named Earnhardt or however it is spelled. There was a third son, too. I am trying to find the home village of Mary Stinger and my grandfather. It is my brick wall of thirty years. I know half the siblings remained there. Thanks again. Sorry I misspelled Reese. I was only there once. Nice place. I loved Saginaw, too. We also went to the cabin in Niles. Great visit My only time in Michigan. Jean ************************************** Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. 3. John and Matilda Prior and new born son Charles E. are living in Portsmouth Township, Bay County, MI in 1900. Census shows Matilda was born in Iowa, John and the baby in Michigan. You thought John and Matilda were living in Reece (sic) but if you are looking for information on that town you'll find it's spelled Reese, my home town. There are still Prior's living in the area. By 1910 they've moved to Merritt Township, Bay County, and the oldest is shown as Earhard meaning that the E in Charles E must have stood for Earhardt and he now goes by that name. They have another son Walter F born about 1902 and a daughter Arlen D about 1904. In 1920 they are still in Merritt Township, Charles Earhardt is not in the household, Arlen is now Helen and there are three more daughters, Lura, Celechia, and Francis. Was unable to find Charles E in Michigan in 1920. In 1930 they remain in Merritt Township and only Celica and Francis remain at home. Don't know which of the girls went by Dolly and married a Vanderwall. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, November 25, 2007 6:23 PM Subject: Re: [MI-GENEALOGY] Stinger > Looking for info on Stinger, Prior, Vanderwall in the Saginaw, Bay City > area. > Mary Becker, dob 1844, Alsace Lorraine married Ernhardt Stinger in 1860s. > They had three sons.
