Hi again, I hope the List Administrator doesn't mind that I mention that I started up a new List a year ago. This is the information page for it: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/other/Immigration/CAN-USA-MIGRATION.html It is for all areas of Canada and all areas of the United States - where your ancestors might have moved back and forth. And, it includes all years from 1600's to 1900's ! I'm sure that there are many families in Michigan in past years which came from Canada or which moved to Canada ! Thank you for your time ! Betty (near Lowell, MA) FYI: Most of my ancestors came to the MA Bay Colony in the 1600's. But, I have 2 sets of great-grandparents where either they went to Canada first, or their grandparents did - during 1800's: KERR / HENDERSON family group, Ireland to Canada, 1820's LEWIS / CORKILL "British Home Children," England to Canada, 1870's Etc. We may have arrived on different ships but we're all in the same boat now. :o) (thinking genealogy) (possibly first said by Martin Luther King, Jr.)
Hello, I have just joined this List to ask if anyone is researching the KIDDER surname. I have been researching my line of KIDDER's for about 13 years. My line pretty much remained in New England, with one man living in New Brunswick for a few years. After 1800 my KIDDER's remained along the Maine / New Brunswick border - until the present time. In addition to researching my ancestors, I also help George KIDDER in FL. He has spent maybe 20 years attempting to update the 1941 "KIDDER book." I have the "KIDDER book" on CD, so both George and I can help with KIDDER research. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/1255/1255.htm When I do occasional look-ups, I find that many KIDDER men and/or families left New England or New York during the 1800's and "headed west." And, many of them went to the Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan area. Thank you for your time. Need help in finding missing cousins who are the ch, gch, and G gch of Roy DAVIS 1900 TN - 1977/8 MI and wife Jessie MARTIN b 1903 TN who probably lived in Highland Park, MI. I am particularly looking for the family of their son, Frank DAVIS b abt 1927, who probably lived and worked in MI. Roy DAVIS and his family moved to MI from middle TN (prob Lewisburg) in the 1930's or 1940's when Roy went to work in the auto industry. His last residence is listed as Highland Park, MI on the SSDI. Roy and Jessie had 3 ch: Abt 1923 Elizabeth "Ann" DAVIS who may have m a MOLDER and lived in Lewisburg, TN Abt 1927 Roy Franklin "Frank" DAVIS who remained in MI where he lives(d) and worked Abt 1932 Nea Jane who was last known to be living in Memphis, TN abt 4-5 years ago. I do NOT know her married name. Roy DAVIS was my f-i-l's 1st cousin as their mothers were BUCKINGHAM sisters. A niece, Lynnette of Lewisburg, TN, on Jessie's side of the family and I had contact with Frank DAVIS abt 4-5 years ago, but we have both lost the contact info for Frank. Most grateful for any additional info and especially anything that would help me to be able to contact anybody in this DAVIS family. Janice

Hi All. I found this name to be difficult to research because of the many different spellings, PLUS transcriptions! NESTELL, NESTEL, NESTLE, NESBELL, PERTLE[?] with NESTLE being the most found spelling. Regards ~ Donna
