    3. Hi Beryle As has already been said, the marriage was in Hackney in the months October, November or December Marriages Dec 1939 Constant Barbara I Wright Hackney 1b 1454 Wright Walter Constant Hackney 1b 1454 I did not find any births for that couple in England or Wales Nor did I find a Barbara I WRIGHT in the 1939 NIR (taken 29th Sept 1939) The only potential (age wise) Barbara CONSTANT in the 1939 was one born 1898 but married to an Edgar CONSTANT at the time So the marriage cert appears to be the neccesary document, for an address plus occupations and residences Do you have a date of birth for Barbara CONSTANT? There is a potential birth for her in 1918, is this her? Births Dec 1918 Constant Barbara I Ellis Richmond S. 2a 729 In theory if Walter was of the same age as Barbara or he was in the military in 1939, neither may appear in the 1939 What details were on his discharge in 1946? address etc As has also been said, it does seem an odd place to post or did you think this list covered Middlesex perhaps? Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 08/06/2016 00:53, Beryle via wrote: > I am trying to trace my husbands ay=aunt she was Barbara Constant > married Walter Wright in 1939 in Portsmouth I have his discharge from > the army in 1946 then nothing I can’t find them in England or on > passenger lists I am hoping at a long shot someone may have a hint > for me.Beryle Mason

Go to http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ and you will find about 500 "Walter Wright" deaths in England between 1946 and 1976 (those transcriptions go no further) 2. And about 50 "Barbara Wright" deaths. 3. Check the marriage:- --------------------------------- Search for Marriages Surname: Wright First name(s): Walter Start date: Mar 1938 End date: Dec 1940 Spouse's surname: Constant Spouse's first name(s): Barbara Quarter Surname First name(s) Spouse District Vol Page Q4, 1939 Wright Walter Constant Hackney 1b 1454 ---------------------------------------------- ... so Registered in Hackney, NOT Portsmouth ! With that information, you can buy a copy of the Marriage Certificate - that WebSite tells you how. That then gives more information (e.g. ages, occupations, witnesses' names, etc.) 4. You could have given more information ? e.g. when were they born ? Did they have another initial / name ? 5. I'm curious as to why you chose THIS Forum - maybe GENBRIT would give more "results" ? 6. Try also WebSites such as www.gravestonephotos.com - there are others similar. 7. They just MAY have gone to e.g. Scotland - try http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/
