I spent most of last night trying to find out more about this. I went through every mention of the PRAY Surname and Sarah Libbey in all of my Libby books and collected data. I went through the VR's of Berwick and York County. All I found was the Marriage Intentions, Cert, and Marriage place and person who married them. There is absolutely nothing on them (that I could find) in any of my Libby books. This brings up the question of just who is she? Was Sarah a nickname (unlikely as the books didn't show any Libb(e)y of any name marrying a Peter Pray) or (more likely) was this a second marriage and she was the former MRS. Sarah Libbey. (Even if she was not born a Libb(e)y, there was no mention of a Libb(e)y's wife remarrying a Peter Pray.) I found several people named Pray, but, no Peter. ????? Marriage Intentions, Berwick, ME 25 Dec 1776 - Marriage Certificate, Berwick, ME 20 Jan 1777 (Picton Press - VR's of Berwick, ME - pg 13) Marriage 23 Jan 1777 in the 2nd Church, Berwick, ME by Matthew Merriam. (Picton Press - VR's of Berwick, ME - pg 198) Did you ever check the Maine Old Cemeteries books to find Burial info? If I get a chance to go to the library, I'll look into that. I'll re-post this on the Libby List to see if anyone can shed any light on this. If you ever find out just who she was, the Libby Family Association sure would like to know about it. Allen E.
