I'm searching for any information about my ancestor Edmund WELCH from the York Co. Maine area. I received copies of three deeds for him recently. Does anyone know what this phrase at the bottom of a deed means? "Recorded according to the Origl Reced Aprl 14, 1754" (or 1784)? Was the term "Origl Reced" referring to the original sale of the land or is this a handwritten copy of the original? Sometimes the deed date was decades after the "Origl Reced" date at the bottom.
