Today I received in the mail a copy of "History of Cape Porpoise" by Melville C. Freeman (originally printed 1955). I hadn't even known it existed until I looked through a catalog of Higginson Book Company (Salem, MA) offerings. They make prints of old, history and genealogy books. This one came nicely bound and I'm very pleased with it because I have many family members who live(d) in the Cape Porpoise area of Kennebunkport. The reprinting and binding is rather pricey, but not if it's important to a knowledge of your ancestors' lives. I would recommend it to anyone with interest in that area. Hopefully, the Kennebunkport library has a copy of it for those of you who live in York County. If anyone would like me to do lookups, I'd be happy to do so. I prefer that you wait until early November to send them as I'll be gone the entire month of October, the last two of which I'll be spending in York County doing research. An additional note: Yes, I know of and own "History of Kennebunkport" by Bradbury. Carol Dobson New Englander living in Indiana
