    2. My hubby descends from the Frost line too...his went to Washington County,Maine. Elizabeth/[Betty]FROST b. Oct.9,1757,dau of John,first settler at Pleasant Point,1763. Elizabeth married Samuel-5 Leighton,son of Hatevil and Sarah(Trickery?) Leighton,of Newington,NH. Samuel settled at Pleasant Point [or Township #9, now known as Perry] Eliz died 8 Oct 1843 and Samuel Oct 4,1843. --------------------------------------- There are several spellings for FOSS/FROST/FOST/ LYDIA FROST: pages: 415-Lydia,dau of Maj.Charles Frost,b. 30 Nov 1686; ma.1692,Benjamai Pierce of Newbury,Mass.,(2) 1716 to John Greenleaf of Salisbury,Mass.,she died in 1752. There are 5 other Lydias in FROST but none of the dates "fit" her -- FOST: Here we go ! page 430 William FOST b. 11 Mar 1673; m. Margery,dau of Nathaniel LORD about 1692. - **note: A William FOSS married 26 April 1703,Sarah,widow of Nathaniel HEARD of Dover and had dau,LYDIA b. 7 Jan 1705. **note: A LYDIA FOST married Peter GRANT 24 Feb.1717, and this is the ONLY LYDIA FOSS I[author]can find.She was only 12 at time of marriage but such a marriage is not impossible. - 472: james-2,son of Peter and Joan GRANT,,. (1) Oct.6,1693,Mary,dau of Jonathan and Sarah (Jenkins) NASON (2)before 1709,Rachel,dau of Daniel and Patience STONE. 473 *2d child,Peter-3, b. 14 Dec.1695; married Lydia FOST [had 8 kids] [note] Lydia apparently died about 1730-40 as Peter remarried and had 5 more children by 2d wife,Mary (LORD) STEWART,widow of Joseph. 598: author states that "Jeremiah LORD, son of James and Sarah,married 21 Jan 1767,Grizzel, dau of Peter and Lydia(Fost)Grant"...according to the Grant genealogy, Grizzell is dau of Peter and Mary [page 473] which makes better argument since Grizzell was b.1746. ============= Lets check for GRANT..Peter...lots of them... page: 151: estates values yearly: BERWICK[ME] 1712 **Peter Grant.....£8 **James Grant.....£6 **William Grant...£5 **John Frost......£8 ---- 176: 1704 petition to abate taxes[Kittery],who suffered in the Indian raids, Peter Grant...taxes were abated, £3 -- 198: Church at Berwick organized,June 4,1702, original members were: Peter Grant [out of 17 members] --- 408: "Sarah FORD b.6 Nov.1796,m.Peter Grant; died Mar 1849 Peter could be related?? -- 430: repeats same info in Fost/Frost/Foss page 430 --- 471-3...same here,see Frost --- 481: under the GUBTAIL/Guptil genealogy: Alice-2 bapt 29 Sept 1723, married Peter Grant. Gubtail fam.lived in South Berwick. ----- 490: Gabriel Hamilton,son of Gabriel and Margaret,m. 17 July 1746,Sarah, dau of Col.Peter Grant; she m.(2) Jeremiah LORD,1758. ----- 512: There was a Richard Hearl/Earl,married 3x and his 3/w was before 1718, Elizabeth,dau of Peter and Joan Grant. ----- 568 KEY/KEYE genealogy: John Key,Jr,married Grizzell,dau of Peter Grant about 1695. --- 590: LORD gene. Mary,dau of Samuel and Martha(Wentworth),b.1719; married (2) Peter Grant [no date] ----- 597 LORD gene: Jermiah LORD m.21 June 1758,Sarah,widow of Gabriel Hamilton and dau of Col.Peter Grant. 598: See Frost info for this page -- 627: NASON gene.: Benjamin-3,m.
