    2. OLD KITTERY AND HER FAMILIES,EVERETT S.STACKPOLE,Lewiston,Me.,1903 -- FYI: [my notes] ---- Page:29 JOCELYN, HENRY was son of Sir,Thomas Jocelyn, born about 1611. Soon after Mason's death he removed to Black Point(Scarborough),and was a commissioner under Deputy Gov. William Gorges, attending the first court held 25 March 1636. He may have served as agent for the company till 1638. In such a capacity he signed a lease in 1637. He declares he had a grant on the Pascataqua, together with Commock and Wannerton. We read of "Watts" Fort alias Point Joslain in the first book of town records,p.66. He married the widow of Capt.Thomas Cammock and received in Cammock's will the estate at Black point. It has been said and disputed that being driven away by Indians he went to Pemaquid, where he died in 1683. He was a man of high character and always held responsible positions in the government of the Province. ----------------- Cynthia--aka "Dusty" :-) Admin Ma-Bay-Colony-L@rootsweb.com http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/MA-BAY-COLONY ALWAYS VERIFY your source(s) REGARDLESS OF WHERE IT'S FROM > Hi, I would appreciate any additional information you have on my ancestor > Henry Jocelyn.
