I have just finished the Kennebunk Census for 1905. Please read the notes before searching and remember that the names may not be in alphabetical order within letter groups. http://www.knights.hls-inc.net/1905cenKen.htm North Berwick searchers, I have added the final page to the 1905 Census which was missing. http://www.knights.hls-inc.net/1905CenNBNonRes.htm My thanks again to Lee Simonds and Vivian Hale for sending these to me. Happy hunting! Going to Florida so will be unable to answer any notes concerning these pages but will get caught up early next week. Darlene Home Page: http://www.knights.hls-inc.net/

Hello to all, I have been on the list for some time and have been sharing with some of you and would like your help! My brother died suddenly and while I was taking care of his things my email was lost! I would like to get the addresses of those that I have been talking to in the past. I hope I can reach everyone. My brother's death has taught me a very valuable but hard lesson, don't ever leave off until tomorrow what you should do and say today!!! Never leave without saying your sorry, even if you were not in the wrong. There may not be a time to make up. Love to all! Sorry if you receive this more than once but I have to contact all my groups. Thanks, Amy West

Dear List: In a text I was reading concerning the distribution of an English estate during the 16th century, money was expressed in terms of "li" (with no quotes.) Does anyone know what "li" stands for? Thanks, 'Gene Hubbard

Dear List: There are at least two place names in the subject GED which are incorrect: 1) Barton, or Barton-under-Nee, Derby should be Barton-under-Needwood, Staffordshire. (Note: Even Frederick Lewis Weis didn't get the county name correct.) 2) Dudley Castle (the seat of the Sutton-Dudleys) is in Staffordhire, not Worcestershire, nor Warwickshire. (The closest large place to it is West Bromwich.) For a gazetteer of English place names, you can download a free copy of an application, for which see below. Dear List: I have determined that there are sufficient typos and outright errors in the subject GED to warrant checking the database against "Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came to America Before 1700" by Frederick LewisWeis, 7th Edition with Additions and Corrections by Walter Lee Sheppard, Jr., Assisted by David Faris. Still and all, the contents of the GED for 12,000 individuals are a very valuable roadmap, and can save you simply enormous amounts of typing time. I will provide one more example of an error to back up my assertion: Please refer to Sir William I Marshall, Earl of Pembroke. He should be individual 3662 in the Royalty GED. In the GED he is said to have died 1219 in "London, England." He in fact died 14 May 1219 in Caversham, Oxfordshire, ENG. I cite Weis (vide supra) page 69, Line 66-27 as my authority. Weis' book can be purchased from the Genealogical Publishing Company, Inc., which has an on-line store. Start with: http://www.genealogical.com/default.asp?AFID=1132 Regards, 'Gene Hubbard
I've tried to wait sufficient time, and now want to ask for a copy of the Royalty GED. I have Hiltons, Hubbards, Hutchinsons, and Wheelwrights. If someone will send it I will be most grateful. Thanks. Jan Bradford bradford @xpressamerica.com
I wonder if someone could look up an obit for me for the following person. RICHARD LEE NORTON died in Dover, New Hampshire Published on July 23, 1996 in Foster's Daily Democrat His relatives lived in North Berwick, Maine Thanks in advance. Linda
Dear List: There is a generational error in the subject GED: It has the following: "Joan Fitz Alan #4645 said to be dau. of John Fitz Alan #1735 and Elizabeth de Spencer #1736." Correction (per Frederick Lewis Weis' "Ancestral Roots.." p65, line 59-33,34,35) Joan Fitz Alan #4645 should be dau. of John Fitz Alan #1734 and Eleanor Maltravers #1561. Regards, 'Gene Hubbard
I have just completed the North Berwick Census for 1905 and I would like to give thanks to Vivian Hale for being kind enough to send it to me. The non-residents page is not up yet. Please be aware that while all surname are grouped by first initial, they are not necessarily in alphabetical order. GOODWIN will be under the G's but may be followed by GETCHELL so please scroll through. There are five different pages so please check each as the names are separated into post offices.
