Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/pM1.2ACIB/671 Message Board Post: I recently purchased a wonderful old Victorian studio photograph (Cabinet Portrait) of “John Meyers - brother of Uncle Anton Meyers” at an antique shop in Brookfield, IL. I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops (pictures with names on the back) and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with the people who will treasure them. The picture was taken by the Blackstone's Studio in Galesburg (Knox Co.) IL in about 1890 (my estimate, based on the type of photo and clothing, etc.). John appears to be about 30-35 years old, give or take a few years and is a handsome man. He has dark hair, a mustache, and is dressed in a coat and high necked shirt/tie.. The picture is an original, on heavy card stock (4- ½” x 6- ½”) as was typical during that time period. The picture is in excellent condition.
