I'm searching for information about Edward MEYERS (1839 - 1911). His family originated from Heligoland, off the Dutch coast, but I'm not sure which generation arrived in England. However, Edward must have been naturalised as he served in the Royal Navy. He was one of a hand-picked crew of the SS Warrior, who were sent to bring Princess Alexandra to England to marry Prince Edward (1863?) He settled in Carlisle, Cumberland, where he had a couple of newsagents shops in London Road. He married Mary Jane ROUTLEDGE and they had a number of children including Kate Agatha (my grandmother) and Norah Annie.
