Dear All, I am posting this message on both the MYERS and MEYERS mailing lists. I am looking for descendants of John MEYERS and Mary GIACOMUZZI/KRAUSE who were living in Bessemer MI from before 1909 until after 1938. They lived at 508 E Iron Rd, Bessemer MI where John was a carpenter. Details of their children are: 1. Isabelle Maria b 1909 married in 1935 to James 'Bud' NEMACHECK (s/o James N. and Catherine CUMMINGS) with whom she had one child (also named James). Isabelle and her husband divorced and she remarried another Bessemer resident (name unknown) whereupon she and her second husband relocated to Pontiac MI. At some point in time, she changed the surname of her son to that of her second husband's. 2. Leona Sophia b 1912 marriage details unknown. 3. Magdalena Anna b 1915- no further details known. My granduncle does not remember Magdalena, therefore she may have died quite young. 4. Leonard b unknown. Was married to a woman named Margaret who later remarried. I have contacted Margaret and am awaiting her reply. Mary was the sister of my great-grandfather (Jacob). There were eight children in the family- Jacob, Leonard, Joseph, Christina, Anna, Sophia and Adelaide. All were born in Germany. Their is an existant record (dated 1906) for Leonard Krause's change of name from GIACOMUZZI- and the baptismal records of the three girls above all list their mother's maiden name as GIACOMUZZI although on Isabelle's marriage record her maiden name is listed as KRAUS. I am most interested in talking to Mary's descendant because her parents relocated to Iron Belt WI to be closer to their daughter and her family and so any details descendants may have would be greatly appreciated. The family appear to have been moving around Germany whilst they were there and may have been in the South Tyrol of today's Italy where the surname of Giacomuzzi is prevalent. Any assistance is welcome. If you wish for further details to clarify possible matches to those you are aware of, please contact me directly and I will provide those where I can. Sincerely, Davin Krause ********************************************************************** This e-mail, including any attachments sent with it, is confidential and for the sole use of the intended recipient(s).
