She was at Gettysburg during the Civil War and told her children that a Union officer picked her up and set her on his horse when the soldiers stopped to water their horses at her father's mill. It is believed Henry Myers was in the Quartermaster Corps duing the Civil War. Cora May Meyers married Calvin Frank Duphorne. I have a picture of a Barbara Elizabeth Epply Myers, It is thought that this group of Myers came from Holland several years ago. Henry Myers had several sisters: Elizabeth who married into a wealthy Cincinnati, Ohio family and had eight children.
