He had a brother, Robert Lee, who was 2 years younger, born in 1937. His parents who had married in Iowa, divorced in 1942, Harold taking William back to Iowa, possibly to live with his grandparents, and Ferne taking Robert. Would like to find William.

Does anybody have any information on a Joseph Myers/Moyers/Meyers married to a Jane Van Allsdale? Both were born in PA approximately 1805ish and later were in OH. George was b. c. 1833 in Fairfield Co., Ohio, moved to Tazewell Co., Illinois with his family in the 1850's and then to Black Hawk Co., Iowa around 1870. He appears on the 1870 census as George MYERS & on the 1880 census as George Meyers; both years in Bennington Twp., Black Hawk Co. I have not been able to locate either George or wife Melissa on the 1900 census. George & Melissa's children included: Henry, Charles, Walker Benjamin, Elmer Eli, Hattie, Alvin, Arthur & Nettie. Son Henry was living in Black Hawk Co., IA in 1900 (Poyner Twp.) with wife Jennie and 5 children: Hattie, Floyd, Maud, Blanche & George. I know he was still in Black Hawk Co. (Dewar) in 1923. All of George's other children were in Colorado or Wyoming by 1923. I have considerable information on George's ancestors, but would like to know more about his descendants. (As an aside, George's family pretty much used the Moyer or Meyer spelling in Fairfield & Pickaway Co., OH, but once they arrived in Tazewell Co., IL, they tended to use the Myers spelling.) Looking for information regarding a John Moyers/Myers m. a Mary Creps? (spelling) likely around 1860s in either MI or OH. I think John (b. ca 1840s?) may have a brother named 'Peter' b. 1837 OH. I am fervently searching for information regarding a Joseph Myers / Moyers and his wife Jane both born in Pennsylvania (ca. 1800?) and later moved to OH at least by 1837 according to the census listing as follows. In an earlier listing I noticed someone had posted the German tradition of family naming convention and this appears to be true in my family as well: My Great Grandfather 'Peter' Moyers/Myers was born 'Peter Jackson Myers' in OH in 1837 s/o Joseph & Jane. Peter named his first born son 'Joseph Jackson Myers'. This Joseph, in turn, named his first born son 'Peter'. Hence it is my belief that Joseph's (my ggGrandfather) father was likely named 'Peter'. On another interesting note, it was also a common tradition to give the middle name of the child after the maiden name of the mother. This leads me to believe that the 'Jane' I'm searching for may have been named 'Jane Jackson'. Lastly, regarding this specific family line, the last name was changed from MYERS to MOYERS post Civil War. I know this because Peter's name at time of enlistment in 1861-1862 was given clearly as MYERS. In this 1880 Michigan census is also listed a John Moyers. Does anybody out there have ANY information to add to or clarify these findings? PLEASE?
