    1. [Meyers] John Meyers, born ca 1860 & IN Galesburg (Knox Co.) IL ca 1890 & brother of "Uncle Anton Meyers"
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/pM1.2ACIB/671 Message Board Post: I recently purchased a wonderful old Victorian studio photograph (Cabinet Portrait) of “John Meyers - brother of Uncle Anton Meyers” at an antique shop in Brookfield, IL. I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops (pictures with names on the back) and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with the people who will treasure them. The picture was taken by the Blackstone's Studio in Galesburg (Knox Co.) IL in about 1890 (my estimate, based on the type of photo and clothing, etc.). John appears to be about 30-35 years old, give or take a few years and is a handsome man. He has dark hair, a mustache, and is dressed in a coat and high necked shirt/tie.. The picture is an original, on heavy card stock (4- ½” x 6- ½”) as was typical during that time period. The picture is in excellent condition. If you have Meyers family members from the Knox Co., IL area during this time frame, please Email me directly at margerice@prodigy.net.

    3. Hello, I am a new member. I have recently come across information indicated that William MYERS married Rebecca HAINES. Unfortunately, I have very little information. On 25 August 2001, nascarago3@aol.com updated information on ancestry.com stating the following: William MYERS (born in Pennsylvania, died in Iowa - dates unknown) Rebecca HAINES (born and died in Iowa - dates unknown) I do not have any dates on either William or Rebecca. My e-mail to nascarago3@aol.com was returned as undeliverable. Their daughter, Sarah Rebecca MYERS (born 1860/61 in Iowa, died circa 1920 in Iowa) married Jacob LEAR on 3 March 1877 in Brooklyn Township, Poweshiek Co., Iowa. Sarah Rebecca (MYERS) and Jacob LEAR are my great, great grandparents. Does anyone know of William MYRES who married Rebecca HAINES? I would appreciate any help that anyone would give to me. Thanks, Cynthia.
