    1. [Meyers] MEYERS of Bessemer MI
    2. Davin Krause
    3. Dear All, I am posting this message on both the MYERS and MEYERS mailing lists. I am looking for descendants of John MEYERS and Mary GIACOMUZZI/KRAUSE who were living in Bessemer MI from before 1909 until after 1938. They lived at 508 E Iron Rd, Bessemer MI where John was a carpenter. Details of their children are: 1. Isabelle Maria b 1909 married in 1935 to James 'Bud' NEMACHECK (s/o James N. and Catherine CUMMINGS) with whom she had one child (also named James). Isabelle and her husband divorced and she remarried another Bessemer resident (name unknown) whereupon she and her second husband relocated to Pontiac MI. At some point in time, she changed the surname of her son to that of her second husband's. 2. Leona Sophia b 1912 marriage details unknown. 3. Magdalena Anna b 1915- no further details known. My granduncle does not remember Magdalena, therefore she may have died quite young. 4. Leonard b unknown. Was married to a woman named Margaret who later remarried. I have contacted Margaret and am awaiting her reply. Mary was the sister of my great-grandfather (Jacob). There were eight children in the family- Jacob, Leonard, Joseph, Christina, Anna, Sophia and Adelaide. All were born in Germany. Their is an existant record (dated 1906) for Leonard Krause's change of name from GIACOMUZZI- and the baptismal records of the three girls above all list their mother's maiden name as GIACOMUZZI although on Isabelle's marriage record her maiden name is listed as KRAUS. I am most interested in talking to Mary's descendant because her parents relocated to Iron Belt WI to be closer to their daughter and her family and so any details descendants may have would be greatly appreciated. The family appear to have been moving around Germany whilst they were there and may have been in the South Tyrol of today's Italy where the surname of Giacomuzzi is prevalent. Any assistance is welcome. If you wish for further details to clarify possible matches to those you are aware of, please contact me directly and I will provide those where I can. 1. [Meyers] RootsWeb Server upgrade and move
    2. To all- Over the course of approximately the next two weeks RootsWeb will be moving to newer, faster, bigger, more reliable servers. The move will take place in stages with only a few servers/programs/services being down at any one time. Message boards will not be affected by the move since they are housed on Ancestry servers. Mailing lists will be down, hopefully for no longer than a day, when list servers reach their turn to be moved and updated. This will probably occur some time next week. For up-to-date information as to which servers are/will be down at any given time during the move consult the RootsWeb HelpDesk page: http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/ The HelpDesk will be the last to be moved so that it can be kept up and running to inform you about the schedule as the move progresses. It is expected that all messages sent to the list during the move will eventually be sent through but may be queued until the mail servers are updated. If you send a message to the list and don't see your message coming through immediately, or if you don't receive any list mail for a period of time, you can probably assume that the delay is move-related. Please don't write to the list and ask about the move or about whether the list is down. Any such inquiries should be directed to the HelpDesk. Remember to check the main HelpDesk page for the status of the move first. When the move is completed we can expect faster more reliable service. Thanks for your patience. Joan Young, administrator
