My great grandfather was Johan Carl/Karl Meyer. He was 14 years older than my great grandmother so I suspect he had another family before her. The childrens first names are very similar to the ones you listed. My great grandfather was from Mecklenburg, Germany, born in 1838. He settled in Clayton Co., Iowa. Please reply.
