Author: swimminginpaper Surnames: Meyer Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.meyer/3186/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Seeking information on parentage of Leendert "Leonard" Meyer, born 1844 in Zeeland. He came to the States in 1866/1867 along with siblings Jacob (b 1848), Martin (b 1853), Herman (abt 1862), Kate (abt 1862), and Lizzie (abt 1858). Soon after arriving in the US, Leonard married a widowed woman, Aagtje "Agnes" with two children by the last name Vlasman (sometimes called Fleischman). All settled in the Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan area. I cannot find any Netherlands information on any of these children or likely parents, despite Netherlands having excellent online records. I suspect their parents are named Jacob and some form of Nellie, as these names are prolific in the offspring coming from all these kids.
