He attended West Concord High School graduating in 1956. Earl served in the United States Navy for four years. On August 31, 1963 Earl was united in marriage to Linda Copeman in Rochester, Minnesota. To this union three children were born. Earl went to work for I.B.M. in Rochester in 1964 where he was employed for twenty five years before his retirement. Earl enjoyed fishing and bow hunting with his sons. He had a lifelong interest in computers. He loved raising roses and watching the birds around his garden. Earl died Sunday, August 26, 2007 at the Emmetsburg Care Center in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Richard, Robert, Francis and Raymond Meyer; and an infant brother. He is survived by his children, LeAnn Vesey and her husband, Matt of Emmetsburg, IA, Will Meyer of Rochester, MN, and Tim Meyer of Preston, MN; their mother, Linda Whitcomb of Eyota, MN; four grandchildren, Douglas Vesey, Autumn Meyer, Dylan Meyer and Laila Meyer-Rasmussen; brothers, Eugene Meyer of Kasson, MN, Edward Meyer of Dodge Center, MN and John Meyer of Blooming Prairie, MN; sisters, Louise Erickson and her husband, Ezra of Owatonna, MN, Rosemary Smith of Mesa, AZ, Carol Clough of Kasson, MN and Patricia Kubat of Dodge Center, MN; as well as many other relatives and friends.
