Meyer Robert J. Meyer, 49, formerly of Phillipsville Road, died Sunday morning August 24, 2008 at Pleasant Ridge Manor East following a lengthy illness as the result of an automobile accident on September 16, 1993. A lifelong resident of Erie, he was born July 23, 1959 a son of the late Paul and Theresa Jarmolowicz Meyer. Robert was a 1977 graduate of Seneca High School and had been a local and short haul truck driver for C.A. Curtze Company. He loved hunting and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and had been very active in the Erie Jay-Cees. He belonged to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Cheryl Murosky Meyer who died on June 21, 2007; his mother-in-law, Mary Jean McDonald Murosky; and a brother-in-law, James Murosky. Survivors include one son, Andrew Meyer at home; two daughters, Lisa and Rebecca Meyer, both at home; one brother, Roger Meyer and his wife MerryAnne of Erie; five sisters-in-law, Barbara Petrone and her husband James Sr. of Erie, Mary Helen Stukbauer and her husband John of Medina, OH, Kitty Holtz and her husband Kenny of Erie, Karen LeKa! ri and her husband Rich of Erie, and Christine Tombaugh of Erie; three brothers-in-law, David Murosky and his wife Debbie of Erie, Donald Murosky and his wife Cindy of Erie, and Thomas Murosky and his wife Mary of Chandler, Ariz.; and his father-in-law, Arthur Murosky. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of East Gore and Wattsburg Road) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to prayer services there on Wednesday morning on at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery .
