I have been unable to uncover anything as it relates to my g-ggrandmother, Meyer, surname. I was encourages when viewing your message seeing your Meyer - Essel connection. I have been working on my family tree for four years and it has grown to 2,335 names, needing now only the Meyer side of the family for completion. My great grandparents Joseph C. and Mary Meyer Essel had six children that I know of, their names: Victoria, Virginia, Desire, Virgil Joseph, August Joseph and Joseph Charles. The Essel's hailed from Alsace Lorraine, France I was told though I have no written proof to back this up. I have no spicific date to when my g-grandparents were born though predicated upon my grandfathers date of birth I would assume the early 1850's. Most of the children of Joseph C. & Mary Meyer Essel resided in Utica, NY though one or more went West.
