    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/oh0.2ACEB/1771.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Well, there's a number of ways and not all the ways work for all the ports. There are the passenger transcription databases that you can find through Cyndi's List and there are books at the library (in the genealogy section) that have lists for ships for the different ports. Is there any place among your family that you can get a clue as to what port? I got lucky with my hubby's grandmother in that one of her daughter's asked to see Nana's passport and told me not only that she entered the US through Boston but the date. That makes the search a bit more manageable. I would say my first place to look would be Cyndi's List - passenger lists and then work your way through the various ports just using logic (what port would be most convenient to where she first lived). If you don't find anything that rout, then take your list of ports to the library. Oh, do you have citizenship papers on your aunt? That might have info....again, this is so general but it gives you a bit ! of a start. Hope you're prepared for a bit of tedious legwork. But then, that's why we do this, right?
