He was born in Switzerland and was a silk weaver. They had five kids: Emil, Elsie, Edna, Hattie, and Joseph (my grandfather). Joseph was youngest and born 1901 in New York City. Great-grandfather was aged 43 at time of Joseph's birth. Understand Pauline committed suicide approximately 1917. Emil was killed by train in New York City approximately 1944. I'm new at this but am stopped dead at this point.
