He arrived in New York in mid-nineteenth century quite poor and alone. A start similar to many who left Europe for the US. Family legend has it that he left what we today call Germany with an Uncle named Gottlieb, who was never a factor in young Christopher's life once he arrived in NYC.Whether Gottlieb died onboard ship (one theory) or they parted in some other way is a mystery. I don't recognize the Strom name. We have Fishers and Larkins and Grubers. I did have rrelatives in Mt. Vernon named Bianco. Best of luck. Alfred
