I have no record of any Lange's married to any Meyer's other than my grandparents, Herman Lange and Wilhelmina Meyer. My grandmother was born in Pomeroy. My ggrandfather Heinrich Christoph (or Cheistoph) Meyer, b. 1844, married Dorothea Meyer (no relation according to my sources). They had children Sophie 1872, Caroline Louise Wilhelmine Katherine 1873, Henry 1876, Wilhelmine Ernestine Katherine 1879 (my grandmother), Fried. Heinrich Christian 1884, and Ferdinand Heinrich 1884. Ggrandfather Heinrich had at least one brother that I have a record of, namely Christian Heinrich Meyer, b 1849, who married Katrina Gottschalk, b. 1854. They had children Herman Heinrich Friedrich 1879, Ernst August Wilhelm Heinrich 1879, Ida Lena Dorothea Elisabeth 1884, Richard Heinrich Friedrich 1885, and Wilhelm Heinrich 1891. These are all that I have records of. There could have been others.! Could my Heinrich Christoph Meyer be your Chris Meyer and my Dorothea Meyer be your Dorethea? Don't know. There seems to be an awful lot of Meyer families coming from Pomeroy at this time in history (population less than 800 today) for there not to be some sort of connection. My Lange family has roots in Rockwell City which is also in Calhoun County, Iowa. If this has any connection to your family or you can shed some light on any family connections please let me know. I have a copy of my Meyer family decendents starting with Johann Henrich Meyer, b. 1810, which was posted on Genealogy.com by my cousin Bill Lange.
