John G. MEYER, one of the early settlers in Johnson County, Kansas, died yesterday at his home near Shawnee, Kas. Mr. MEYER was 86 years old. He came to Kansas City, Kas., fifty-two years ago and ran a blacksmith shop in that city twenty- one years. He then moved to a farm near Shawnee and had lived there since. He is survived by a widow, three daughters and two sons. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home.
