Hi ,I'm new to this list and I am trying to find some information on a set of greatgrandparents. Their names are Ferdinand and Sophie Meyers Borchers from somewhere in Germany. I'm at a lost for this as I don't have any dates that can help or locations either . I feel bad about asking for help when I can't help you folks because of no dates. I do have the birth date of my grandfather who was here in the state of New York and it was birth in Germany no info here where he was born at but he was born March 13,1891 and I don't know the marriage date either but his name was also Ferdinand and he married Mathilide Borchers don't know her maiden name . Ferdinand my grandfather died June 17,1945 in New York City, New York. They had two children but I don't know if they were born in Germany or born here . I've been told they were born in Germany but my dad's military papers say his birth was 328 E.89th St. New York City,New York. His name was Arthur Walter Borchers and his sister was Anna Borchers Graf and I have no dates on her either birth , marriage, or death . She married Al Graf but I don't know when or where. My dad died Feb. 4,1979 in New Jersey. This is all I have any information will be deeply appreiated. Vicky Borchers Harkness

I saw here you emailed me privately and was wondering where you got my email address? Is your line connected to Bob Borchers line that I am connected to. Bob was born in NY or NJ.. I want to say Hackensack, NY or is that in NJ??? Anyway, he connects to me thru my Bruns line which connects to me thru my Meyer line. My 3rd g grandmother Katharina Reinders [Bruns] was the sister to Bob's 2nd or 3rd g grandfather. My Katharina married Tooms Thomassen Meyer who is my 2nd g grandfather. They all lived and died in Ostfriesland. Tooms had one daughter who came to America who was my g aunt and then my grandfather came to America other than that all the rest of my family is in Germany. But I have a double Meyer. My Grandfather's mother was a Meyer before she married a Meyer. Her father would be Tooms and he was illegitimate and he took his step-fathers surname which was Meyer. So in reality my g grandmother was not a Meyer by blood. Her maiden name should be Geerds. My other Meyer line is in Greetsiel and Pilsum area of Ostfriesland.
