    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: jomeyer13 Surnames: Meyer, Mullen, Wolf,Stolley Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.meyer/3217.4.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, t and I thanks for your post. I move around so much and I research other Meyer families a tiny bit just to see if they could be mine. What else have we to do? So asking me about that former post then is hard for me to answer. I am just not sure. I have run accross a few ameilia lately too? I am always looking into Illinois and Oregon for Meyer. Illinois Meyer pop around in the state so much. cook couty to some other and then off for cheap land. I ran accross some of Illinois lately and the name Steil popped out at me. YOu can believe I am interested. I will tell you Aida is good did you try it? Now here is another tip I just rediscovered. If you use google for a 'book search' you can read some of the books that the county seems to publish with biographies etc.Not just google but google book search. I saved some to my library late last night until internet shut me off. I am starting a blog for Meyer name with families also that are not mine. I just don't know, if I will know how to do a guest book. I hope to link to other meyer families. Now the thing is I will link to all those other Meyer families that I have had an interest in the past. Carry them along with me. so I will be looking at old message posts and old emails and eventually get there. I am blogging throught google and I am not sure exactly what others can do when not in gmail. I will run through it later and see what I can come up with. I have a huge interest in name August and minnie and amelia. I did see it lately again. and wondering if you posted at Meyer board and I saw something there. However I think it was a popular name and combination. Did you say lets see where in iowa was it Fayette or Franklin. I will review old posts and what ever and get back to you. One I am extremely interested in was the Meyer that had settled wi and mn and found they had gone to Illinois. there was a connection back with them to Behn. Oh yes in calhoun county iowa I did read that there was a august Meyer and the name Minnie comes up. You can read past and present Calhoun county Iowa through google book search. I will try your county. Not everyone let them be listed in those books. Yours show up on census.? The one I have in calhoun iowa was Henry Meyer who had married a schulz she died young. He was a pastor at Pomeroy His son also became a pastor. His son lived in thayer county Nebraska. They had daughter bertha and I forget the other. But there are at least four Meyer familly in calhoun county. Another one I have an interest in lived Illinois and there was an August and a Minnie Ellen who married a Nahnsen. Elmer or Emil. this family brings up the name Wolf and I think Mullin. However it could be greene county. I have another Meyer who lived Lohrville. william Meyer and his daughter was wilhelmina or minnie. She married Stolley. We do not have any August in that family. That one is the center of my blog. [I am working on only my third post so far, sorry] However, in Dahlenburg.jonasonline de under school scection of book of Charlotte Woodage there was mention of a Auguste going to boston. I had been searching for that family as well. I think the immigration time was late. Thanks sorry for the ramble and confusion so many Meyer intersts can cause. Author: ScottLucindaR Surnames: Meyer & Schnittger Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.meyer/3217.4.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My great great grandparents were from Germany and came to the U.S. in the early 1850's. I would like to find out more about their immigration. My great great grandfather was Florence August Meyer and his wife went by both "Minnie" and some census' listed her as "Amelia ". Her maiden name was Schnittger. I know they lived in Iowa for a while before settling in Pulaski County, Illinois. After reading your post I am interested in the website you listed. You mentioned you came across a Wilhemina Meyer once and I was wondering if it could be my great great grandmother. Where was this info located? Some other coincidences to the other posts: My great grandfather's name was August and he had a son named Henry) Any info would be appreciated. A group of four names are surname Meyer, father Alfred, mother Mabel, and sons LeRoy and Armin. I found the family of Alfred Meyer in the 1930 census for Oak Creek, WI, showing father Alfred, age 42, Mabel, 38; Armin, 14; and Leroy, 12. In the 1900 census, I found Alfred as son of Fred and Selma Franke Meyer (see other message posted on them), showing Alfred's birthdate as Dec. 1887. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: margerice1 Surnames: Meyer, Franke, Koehler, Mahr Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.meyer/3251/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have two photographs of this family, which I'd like to get back to descendants or family members. One photo is an original studio picture of "Friederich and Selma Meyer", taken in about 1910. Photo was taken in Milwaukee, WI and he looks about 60 and she about 50. The second is a copy of a group photo taken about 1900, of Alfred Meyer, Carl Franke "gr. grandfather", Irma Meyer Mahr, Frederika Koehler Franke "great grandmother", and Selma Franke Meyer "grandmother". I found Friedrich and Selma Meyer in the 1900 federal census and 1905 WI state census, living in Oak Creek (Milwaukee Co.) WI, as Fred and Selma. 1900 census shows Fred was born Oct 1849, and Selma in 1860. In 1905, however, in same location, he was listed as 52, and she as 45. In 1900, their children were Ella, born Sep 1884, Dornetta/Arnetta, born Sep 1886, and Alfred, born Sep 1887. Carl and Fredrika Franke were parents of Selma Meyer, and I found them in the 1880 census for Oak Creek (Milwaukee Co.) WI, with their children. Charles A. Franke was age 53, Fredrika was age 49, with children Oscar, 25; Ernest, 18; Selma, 20; Herman, 14, and living with them was 80 yr. old John G. Franke. However it must be some kind or error because there is no son by that date of birth to Behren/ Meyer. Unless the child was born in another area. The only way to know would be census. Last child born was 1817. That Hinrich Meyer married a Ratzman and lived for a time at Weste in Himbergen region of Uelzen. His son listed at Uelzen records died as an infant. His daughter lived but nothing of her further is mentioned. He died very young. I am not sure about the wife, either. I am sure she remarried. She had married before as first marriage then to the Neetzendorf Meyer. In this time frame though there was a Wedding of Jurgen Friedrich Meyer and Catharina Margarethea Luhmann Meyer geb. Eichdorf. Interesting update is that Paul Behmke has a tree of his wife who had relatives Meyer that connect to the Himbergen region and they went to Loganville, Reedsburg area of wi. so I hope I cleared up the error. the father Johann Juergen Meyer born at Radenbeck. I believe he had two or three sons who lived past childhood. One daugther. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
