Johann Juergen was shepherd in Neetzendorf and Eichdorf area of Luneburg Heide area of Niedersachen. 3. I am looking for relatives of my great grandfather, Johan Carl Meyer. He was born 10/31/1838 in Mecklenburg which is in the Northern part of Germany. He settled in Clayton Co., IA which is along the Mississippi River close to the Northern Border of Iowa. This was coal mining country. He went by the name of Carl or Chas Meyer. In the early 1870's he was married to Elisabeth Wille and had 9 children in Clayton County, Reed Township, IA. Around 1890 they moved to Postville, Allamakee Co., IA which is the next county North. and had two more children. They were very active Lutherans. Go into www.Geneanet.com or org(I cannot remember). Look up Meyer surname and then find one that says Postville and more for the reference. You can pull up a lot of Meyer and Meier people who lived in that area. I am not able to connect with any of these for relatives but you may be able to. Hopefully, you will see a connection to my family. Marlene South Dakota
