Borchers, Meyers - names are found in my genealogy. Check this out: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Lake/6512/ Are there any connections here? Dorothy S. Gail Meyer Kilgore wrote: > I saw here you emailed me privately and was wondering where you got my email address? Is your line connected to Bob Borchers line that I am connected to. Bob was born in NY or NJ.. I want to say Hackensack, NY or is that in NJ??? Anyway, he connects to me thru my Bruns line which connects to me thru my Meyer line. My 3rd g grandmother Katharina Reinders [Bruns] was the sister to Bob's 2nd or 3rd g grandfather. My Katharina married Tooms Thomassen Meyer who is my 2nd g grandfather. They all lived and died in Ostfriesland. Tooms had one daughter who came to America who was my g aunt and then my grandfather came to America other than that all the rest of my family is in Germany. > > But I have a double Meyer. My Grandfather's mother was a Meyer before she married a Meyer. Her father would be Tooms and he was illegitimate and he took his step-fathers surname which was Meyer. So in reality my g grandmother was not a Meyer by blood. Her maiden name should be Geerds. > > My other Meyer line is in Greetsiel and Pilsum area of Ostfriesland.
