Surnames: Meyer Wozniczka Kulakowski Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/oh0.2ACEB/1768 Message Board Post: Mary Wozniczka was born to Jozef & Margaret Wozniczka in Germany / Prussia / Poland. The year of birth differs from one source to another, 1870, 1877, 1880. She and her parents immigrated America in 1886 and settled in Jackson Twp., Porter Co., Indiana. Mary and Frank Kulakowski were married there on 18 June 1895. They'd had 5 children and run a farm in Jackson Twp. Frank died on 8 Feb 1925. Mary remarried to a Meyer, perhaps Nicholas. If the St. Mary Church/Cemetery Register of the Deceased (Registrum Defunctorum Ecclesiae) listed the same Mary Meyer, her dates of birth and death would be 20 Mar 1877 and 6 Oct 1938 respectively. Nicholas Meyer was listed as born 1872, died 1936. Can anyone please expand or elaborate on this. E-mail me directly to my address. Thank you. Dennis Wozniczka

I did have barthell, also.these are the ones who married into the Luhmann family of the maternal side of the family. I also have Bartel further down the line. They are on family tree maker. It involves the line in iowa that have Kanning surname and a few others. In that case it involved the name of the farm and the person taking on that name. Also a correction. The name of the city the Meyer family had relatives was called Buffalo center, Michigan. sorry for the mistake.

My Meyer's came from Germany to Ottawa, IL. to Rock Island. I just got back from some research in Rock Island and found that my relatives in the 1890's-1900 were Meyer. Before that it was Maier and when the older ones died Maier was put on their tombstone's in Rock Island and Moline. When their children started school they changed or it got changed to Mier. Hi do any of you have a Sophie Meyer who married a Ferdinand Borchers both from Germany but I don't have a village to help with. They were my greatgrandparents. They stayed in Germany I think as my grandparents Ferdinand and Mathilde Borchers came here to the states and settled in New York City where my grandfather was a baker at some bakery there where they lived at 328 E. 89th St. New York City, bourgh of Manhattan, New York. I have been told they came over in 1912 as my dad Arthur Walter Borchers was born April 18, 1918 and his sister Anna Borchers Graf was born in 1920 I don't have her birthday but she married Al Graf but I don't have a date for that either. My mom and dad were married in 1944 and divorced in 1946 so I didn't know my grandparents out there at all but I did get to find my dad and meet him for the first time in 30 years. So please write to me and let me know if any of these names are a link to any of you. Thank You , and God Bless, Vicky Borchers Harkness P.S, you folks aren't very far from me, I'm in Illinois and not too far from the Iowa border.
