    3. I am interested if anyone has seen any signs of long-gone houses on islands in Meddybemps Lake. There is a 'solid' story of a Butler family living on one of them in the late 1820s or early 1830s, until the cabin burned, killing one of the children. This has been a tough family to figure out. Two males (almost certainly brothers) are listed in the 1820s Pioneer register of Alexander. Tom Moffatt P. O.     3. I can't answer your question, but since you mentioned Butlers - I am looking for a T. Franklin Butler who filed two intentions to marry Maria Jane Douglass in Calais in 1879. I want to know if the marriage ever took place and what happened to Mr. Butler.
