A resolve of the MA General Court on 21 Jun 1793 resulted in a division and distribution of lands in eastern Washington County in 1794 to a number of the settlers there at that time. I've referred to these land grants a number of times but have never really understood why this was done or other issues it must have created, eg, whose land was being divided?, what happened to land transfers (deeds) that took place prior to the division?, were the settlers given the lots without charge?, who decided who got what?, etc. Does anyone understand in some detail what this resolve of the MA Court was and how it was administered?
